This is a test blog to see how well this site will work on uploading pictures and describing them, as it might be the best way for me to blog about my Sabbatical leave and project, if it works well. If not, I'll have to think of another way to do this.
So, the first picture is just a small part of our stained glass windows at Bethesda United Presbyterian Church. They go from mid chest level all the way up to the 14 foot ceilings.
This much smaller stained glass window is above the Communion Table and Choir loft, just beyond the pulpit and lectern. Within it, you'll see symbols of our Christian faith - such as, the Alpha and Omega symbol, the scale of justice, the scrolls of our scripture text, etc...
And finally, this third stained glass window is actually inside the building, above the Narthex doors. The abbreviation of U.P., meaning United Presbyterian. Although the denomination known as the United Presbyterian Church of the United States of American merged with the Presbyterian Church of the United States in 1983, we've retained our "United" name and are now part of the denomination called PCUSA.
