Here are some pictures of the Spanish countryside as I headed to Cordoba on the train.

They have a LOT of olive groves!
I was told that it would be about a 20 minutes walk from the train station to the apartment.  But I decided to take a taxi instead as I did not know Cordoba yet.  So glad I did.  If I thought the labyrinth of tiny streets were enough to get lost among in Barcelona and Madrid, Cordoba’s got them both beat!  In fact, even when I got to the apartment, I was taken through a courtyard to one set of elevators.  Yay, elevators!  And we went down, then we went through another set of courtyards, to a different elevator and went up.  The apartment on the “penthouse” level and has it’s own terrace that’s looks out onto the Mosque, as well as Santa Ann’s Catholic Church’s bell tower.
Here are pictures of my new apartment in Cordoba.

I’ll start investigating the town tomorrow, but it just so happened that I arrived during a festival weekend, so walked the many artisan tents and food options.

I had a pork sandwich, as you can see in the picture.  It was heaven on bread.  The pork was roasted, as you can see in another picture and slightly different from Puerto Rican pork or German pork.  I think the Arab influence here makes the selection of spices slightly different.  But delicious all the same.
