Today’s Meditation - Wednesday, May, 13
Read Hebrews 10:19-25
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Even in the most “normal” of times, this passage from Paul speaks to believers about the hope that we have received through the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on our behalf. Jesus’ sacrifice has pulled the curtain that separated us and God away and given us the chance to “draw near to God with a sincere heart”. In these strange days of the pandemic, is there anything else we can do? Come before the God of the universe with a sincere heart and leave our faith and hope in Him?

Paul goes on to say that we should keep our hope because the One who made the promises to us is faithful. He closes by telling us that we should help to encourage one another toward love and good deeds and that we should not give up being together. Obviously right now, physically being together is not an option in the way it has been for us in the past, but I want to encourage you all to be in contact with one another. Call one another, use your computer and send an email or even find a way to video chat. There are plenty of technological advances that have allowed for any number of chances to stay in touch.

This is how I would encourage you all today my friends! Stay in touch with one another, talk and pray together, and keep your hope and faith in the One who is faithful in His promises. One day soon, we hope to be together again, but until then, encourage one another and put your faith in God.

God bless you all!
