Today's Meditation
Read John 15:7-11
7If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.
9As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. 10If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.
Today I offer you with this message from scripture regarding love and joy and a simple quote from Dr. Brene Brown, professor and author at the University of Houston. "Joy comes to us in moments - ordinary moments. We risk missing out on joy when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary."
Jesus loves us and asks us to abide in that love. And that His joy might be complete in us. Today's message, I think, is a simple one in its statement, but a far more difficult one to chase after and pursue. So, find God's love in your own heart today and seek the joy in ordinary living.
For all of you who remember this old, fun song from VBS days.
