Today's Meditation
Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
It is easy to lose heart in moments of stress and anxiety. It is easy to become anxious when the future is unknown. It is this very moment that shows us that there is much we cannot see, or anticipate, or plan. We have only a finite amount of control. I don't know about you, but not being in control is disarming for me. Not having a plan, not being able to chart the near and distant waters, makes me anxious.
What part of your inner nature is being renewed today?
What part of your day, what activities do you have control over?
What parts do you need to lean more heavily on God, allow God to lead?
Maybe we're being given a chance to reset our lives, our priorities, our relationships with ourselves, others, and with God.
Carrie Underwood shot to fame with this song;
