 Today's Meditation
Read Job 42:7-9
7After the Lord had spoken these words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has. 8Now therefore take seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly; for you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has done.” 9So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what the Lord had told them; and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.

Although the Lord was finished speaking to Job and replying to Job's complaint against the Lord, God wasn't finished with Job's friends.  God convicted them and rebuked them for not being as honest and truthful when it came to their friend Job.  They had accused him of sin; of being guilty of nameless acts.  And they spoke against the Lord, claiming that God was punishing Job for his life.
God wanted to set the record straight, not only with Job, but also with Job's friends.  They needed to offer a sacrifice of forgiveness in order to be reconciled with God and with Job.  To their credit, they did exactly as they were commanded and offered Job a sacrifice of seven bulls and seven rams.  Job prayed for them, forgave them and the Lord accepted Job's prayer.
Has God ever convicted you of a wrongdoing?  How have you reconciled that?  It requires humbleness and strength to admit our faults, failures, and mistakes.  But the reward is to redeem and reconcile relationships.
